jalan banjirWEDNESDAY, 27 AUGUST – Staff and students of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) are advised to be careful when using the main roads around the university’s campus following heavy rain since 1 o'clock this afternoon.

A survey by Chancellery Media crew found that the roads were slippery and water was rising in several areas as at 4.30 pm.

At Jalan UMS, the traffic was smooth on both lanes but visibility was limited forcing all road users to switch on their headlights.

Jalan Sulaman was only using one lane heading to Indah Permai as the lane leading to UMS from the opposite direction was flooded.

However, those who are heading to Kota Kinabalu using these roads are advised to use alternative routes through Alam Mesra.

UMS staff and students are reminded to always drive carefully and comply with the traffic police assigned at the congested and flooded areas. – SS (fl)
