Announcement From
: Bioprocess Engineering (BPE), Faculty of Engineering
Subject
: Bioprocess Engineering Course, 13 - 14 February 2017

This 2 days intensive course will be presented by Professor Dr. Ravindra Pogaku from the Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). The speaker will present a systematic progression of topics from metabolic    pathways and networks, thermodynamics of bio reactions and bio catalysis. Following from this, bioreaction kinetics are further explored and applied in the design and operation of ideal and industrial bioreactors including Metabolic engineering. It is presented as a IPD course for engineers and scientists. It also forms part of the taught bachelor and Master’s coursework in Bioprocess Engineering at different Universities, contributing to 8 and 16 credit courses respectively.

This course will be of benefit to all those who are interested in Biochemical Engineering, Biopharmaceutical Engineering, Bioreactor Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Enzyme Engineering, Fermentation Technology, Food Biotechnology and Metabolic   Engineering. With the exponential current and future growth of the chemical and allied industry, adequately trained pool of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineers will be in great demand. Participants will be exposed to theory as well as practical considerations in  Bioprocess Engineering. This is an opportunity to avail to enhance the knowledge in frontier program of   bioprocess engineering.
