The “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition is a flagship international event organized by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC). The competition targets university students, secondary school students, and primary school students from all around the world, offering a comprehensive platform that includes Chinese speech, cultural knowledge, talent performances, and cultural experience activities.

As one of the key annual programs of the Confucius Institute at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (CI@UMS), the competition aims to:

-Motivate students to develop stronger interest in learning Chinese

-Enhance their language proficiency and cultural awareness

-Promote educational and cultural exchange between Malaysia and China

-Provide students with opportunities to showcase their potential on an international stage

Since 2025, CI@UMS has served as the official annual organizer of the Malaysia Primary School C of the “Chinese Bridge” competition.
