From December 17 to 30, 2024, the International College of Chinese Language & Culture, Hunan Normal University, successfully hosted the "Chinese Language Education・Chinese Language Teachers" Workshop. The Confucius Institute at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (CI@UMS) recommended five Chinese language teachers from Sabah to participate in the workshop.
The 14-day workshop brought together Chinese language teachers from 10 countries. The content focused on four key areas: Chinese language teaching, literature and culture, study tours, and academic exchanges. This helped the teachers to enhance their professional qualities in a comprehensive manner.
Among the five teachers recommended by CI@UMS, four were Chinese language teachers from the Centre for the Promotion of Knowledge and Language Learning (PPIB) at UMS, and one is a Chinese primary school teacher from Sabah. They actively engaged in the workshop, gaining fresh insights and innovative ideas. Upon returning to Malaysia, these educators are ready to apply their newly acquired knowledge into the Chinese language education in Sabah, contributing to the advancement of the field.
