Policies
The term 'ecocampus' is defined by UMS as
'a point of reference to act as a steward of the environment, contributing to global efforts towards sustainability by introducing environmental excellence in teaching and learning, research, infrastructure development, management and operational practices, and campus experience.'
With the definition, UMS established two (2) very specific policies in support the sustainable development and management of its university and branches.
The policies are:
1) UMS' Sustainable Energy Policy and
2) UMS' Sustainable Waste Management Policy;
and they were established in 2018 and 2020, respectively. These policies are oversee by the EMC with the support of other internal agencies such as Development and Maintenance Office and Department of Information and Communication Technology.
