In conjunction with the Kota Kinabalu International Book Fair (PBAKK) 2025, UMS Press is pleased to invite academics, students, and the general public to participate in the Workshop on Journal Management and Indexation for Editors, Managing Editors and Publishers.
 
Date: 13 November 2025 (Thursday)
Time: 9.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m.

What the participants will gain from this workshop?
 
- To equip journal editors/ managing editors/ publishers with the knowledge, tools, and strategies to enhance journal quality, streamline editorial workflows, and achieve successful indexation in national and international databases (MyCite, Scopus, Web of Science).
- Strengthen understanding essential skills, ethical frameworks, and strategic insights needed to enhance editorial quality, streamline workflows, and strengthen journal's academic impact.
- Learn best practices in quality control, editorial strategy, and transparent publishing to enhance credibility, reproducibility, and trust in academic research.
- Understand the requirements and application processes for major indexing databases.
- Evaluate institutional journals against MyCite/ Scopus/ Web of Science criteria.
- Create a personalized roadmap for journal’s improvement on specific challenges (indexation, workflow, ethics).
