MONDAY, 7 APRIL – Datuk Haji Mahiruddin, the father of His Excellency the Head of State, Tun Datuk Seri Panglima (Dr.) Haji Juhar Datuk Haji Mahiruddin had passed away last night.

He breathed his last at the Queen Elizabeth 2 Hospital at about 6.45 pm. His body was taken to the State Mosque this morning for final preparations before being buried at the Kg. Ulu Putatan Cemetery.

Staff and students of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) extended their condolences to the family of His Excellency on the passing of his beloved father. May Allah bless his soul and may he be placed among the believers and righteous.
