WEDNESDAY, 15 APRIL – Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Mosque and Islamic Affairs Division (BHEIM) Labuan International Campus (KAL) organised a zakat briefing at the Executive Meeting Room, Level 11, University Tower Building, today.

The briefing that was attended by UMSKAL staff, was delivered by an Executive of the Labuan Zakat Collection Centre (PPZ), Abdullah Mohammad Tajuddin.

He explained the importance of zakat, its advantage and zakat properties including its method of calculation.

“Civil servants are encouraged to pay zakat through payroll deductions online,” he said.

The briefing was also attended by Islamic Affairs Officer, Junaidi Kepli and almost 50 staff including lecturers. – SS (fl)
