About Us
UMS Centre for External Education (UCEE) formerly known as PPLK was established in October 1999 in Sandakan, Sabah. The very existence of PPLK was initially to take the challenge voiced by Malaysia's former Education Misnister at that time, YAB Datuk Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak, with the objective of supporting the temporary untrained teachers. The idea of PPLK was ignited by UMS former Vice-Chancellor, YBhg. Tan Sri Prof. Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Abu Hassan Othman.
To date, there are 5 UCEE branches throughout the state, which are Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau, Keningau and Labuan, offering 19 undergraduates programmes and 9 postgraduate (coursework) programmes.
