TUESDAY, 03 MARCH – The organiser of the 7th International Conference of the Asian Academy of Applied Business (AAAB) recently announced the change of date for this conference to 21 September – 23 September 2015 and not as previously announced.
According to a statement issued by the Faculty of Business, Economics and Accountancy, the conference will be held at Guangzhou, China.
Titled “Synergising the Asian-Asean Businesses”, the conference covers broad issues of business environment in both regions.
Among the topics of interest included accounting, banking and finance, development economics, entrepreneurship, fiscal and monetary issues, hospitality management and human capital management.
However, submission of abstract is scheduled on 30 June 2015 whilst deadline for full paper submission is 4 August 2015.

TUESDAY, 3 MARCH – The Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Heritage (FKSW) Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) organised a National Seminar on Nation Building 2015: Sabah Development in Malaysia, at YTL Auditorium UMS.
The seminar started with its first series today featuring leading persoalities and renowed speakers, namely former Sabah Chief Minister, Tan Sri Harris Salleh; former State Attorney General, Tan Sri Herman J. Luping and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Communication, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Dr. Jeneri Amir.
The seminar which will be held in four series among others debated on various issues and conflicts, particularly from the Sabah and Sarawak perspectives which were seen to be a challenge in efforts towards being a developed nation by 2020.
In addition, the seminar acted to provide academic and factual explanations on issued related to the position of Sabah and Sarawak in the formation of Malaysia.
Three other series were scheduled on 11, 18 and 25 March, to be held at the same venue.
Among the presenters were UMS Vice-Chancellor, Professor Datuk Dr. Mohd Harun Abdullah; former Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Bakri Mohd. Zinin and former Sabah Archive Department, Datuk Datu Tiga Belas Datuk Zainal Abidin. – ZMD (fl)
