TUESDAY, 15 APRIL – A caring attitude in providing community service continues to be the practice of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) in disseminating knowledge to the local community.

Recently, through a combination of collaborations among the Student Representatives Council (MPP), FELDA Students Collaboration (PERSADA UMS), and the Publicity Department (FELDA) Sabah held a knowledge sharing programme ‘Selangkah Ke Menara Gading’ (SEMEGA) in nine secondary schools in Tawau.

According to the President of MPP, Fandyi Sanizan Jurup; the two-day programme was aimed at creating awareness among local youths to study hard and enter into higher learning institutions especially UMS.

“This is a motivational programme providing a glimpse into campus life through a video presentation which portrays the challenges and excitement of being an undergraduate.

“The motivational programme was presented by the students of UMS itself which is seen to eliminate the perception that life is difficult in the university with multiple pressures,” he told reporters.

Also present was the Head of Publicity FELDA in Sabah, Asmarah Rikun. – SS (fl)
