To attain the mission and vision of UMS, the Centre for Co-curriculum and Student Development aspires to achieve its aims through:

• Stimulation of students’ interest, development of excellent mindset, sharpening students’ talents and potential through strong and objective-based student activities in particular leadership and community services as well as other outreach programmes in order to develop interpersonal and self-improvement skills of UMS students.

• Producing highly motivated and esteemed Future Leaders and polishing students’ potential in sports and arts through related co-curriculum course.

• Moulding and developing UMS students’ identity with superior patriotism, high perseverance, noble and kind characteristics, in addition to having universal compassion.

This course focuses on skills required for knowledge acquisition on Taekwondo. Emphasis is place on techniques of self defense and martial arts. This course incorporates on soft skills enhancement in which student must actively participate in related social and community activities and programs.

HOPE adalah program oleh YATIM (Yayasan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Malaysia) yang direka khas untuk anak-anak yatim dalam bentuk sekolah harian untuk daerah terpilih. Siri program pertama pada 2019 melibatkan 100 peserta daripada tiga (3) buah sekolah daerah terpilih di Sabah iaitu Ranau, Kota Belud dan Tuaran.

Pengisian untuk tahun pertama (tingkatan 4) bertujuan membentuk pembentukan harga diri, memperkuat identiti, pembelajaran dan kemahiran menyelesaikan masalah. Program ini telah diadakan dari 15 hingga 17 Mac 2019 di Kem Latihan Belia, BTN Kundasang dengan kerjasama YATIM (Yayasan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Malaysia) dan Pusat Kokurikulum dan Pemajuan Pelajar, Universiti Malaysia Sabah yang melibatkan 50 pelajar UMS sebagai fasilitator untuk peserta program.
