THURSDAY, 23 JUNE – Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) continues to be seen at international level and strengthened when it was listed in the 220 best Asian universities in the QS Asian University Rankings 2016, recently.
Vice-Chancellor, Professor Datuk Dr. Mohd Harun Abdullah said, the achievement was a significant improvement over that of last year’s when UMS was included in the 250 best Asian universities ranking.
“It also showed a surge of 140 position compared to the ranking of the university in 2012,” he said in a statement today.
He said, the achievement was the result of the commitment of all campus community who worked tirelessly and with a zeal to maintain excellence towards achieving superiority in the international arena.
“Previously, we were less known globally, but now UMS is on the right track and have continuously achieved world-class recognition.
“Efforts are also underway to ensure that this university developed to a higher level and continue to excel,” added Datuk Harun, while announcing that UMS target was to be in the top 100 best Asian universities ranking in the next five years. – SS (fl)



MONDAY, 20 JUNE – Senior Lecturer from the Faculty of Business, Economics and Accounting (FPEP), Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Dr. Awangku Hassanal Bahar Pengiran Bagul has been appointed as an Advisory Committee to the International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN) for a period of two years starting June 2016.
