3) Aquarium and Marine Museum – Marine BioValley
Located at a scenic seafront, the Aquarium and Marine Museum complex houses colourful and beautiful marine life. It is one of the key components of Marine BioValley of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), dedicated to inspiring ocean conservation through education, research, innovation and exploration. Learning about marine life is more interactive, interesting, and enjoyable in a real-life situation. It instils a sense of respect towards the marine environment and inculcates an understanding of the importance of the marine environment for mankind. The display inside the aquarium section exhibits an ecosystem with its complex communities of organisms interacting in their environment, which calls for a unique learning experience. This excellent education tool helps develop an understanding of the interconnectedness of all living things and awareness that the sea is an integral part of our existence, needing protection.
