Waste Management Advisory
Approaches in Sustainable Waste Management at UMS
The activities of university staffs and students on campus will produce a lot of waste, and waste treatment and recycling activities are major factors in creating a sustainable environment. As a result, UMS established Sustainable Waste Management Policy in 2020, which is an amalgamate of contemporary and innovative practises at the university.
Strategies, programs, events and activities associated with the sustainable management such as recycling program, organic waste treatment, inorganic waste treatment, toxic waste recycling, sewage disposal, policies to reduce the use of paper and plastic on campus are ways of managing waste sustainably. The following is a list of that can be adopted / adapted at UMS.

Waste avoidance is made through the reduction of paper usage. These are achieved by complying with UMS' Garis Panduan Ekosistem Kondusif Sektor Awam Universiti Malaysia Sabah.
