Faculty of Psychology
and Social Work
About Us
INTRODUCTION
The School of Psychology and Social Work (SPKS), established in 1996, is determined to educate students to be well informed and skilled in areas of psychology and social work. As the two disciplines; psychology and social work - are located under one roof, school core courses are an integral part of every program offered, thus truly depicting the school's multidisciplinary approach. SPKS was merged with the School of Education and Social Development in June 2016 and rebranding as the Faculty of Psychology and Education.
The Faculty of Psychology and Social Work, established in 4th September 2024, produces trained and knowledgeable professionals in education and human development to address behavioral and social problems. To meet the challenging needs of the 21st century, the faculty draws on, integrates, and synergizes fundamental disciplines in psychology, social work, and counselling to produce skilled and competent graduates. Employing a careful mixed of contemporary courses and programs, the faculty aspires to produce highly skilled and competent graduates who are well-balanced in terms of their intellectual, emotional, and spiritual quotients in order to contribute positively to the human capital development and advancement of the country. This goal is in line with UMS's quest to become a global institution of excellence in education, training, and research. To achieve this goal, all entrusted parties must fulfill their duties and responsibilities with sincerity, trust, and dedication based upon an excellent work culture.
