Pameran UMS ArkibWEDNESDAY, 4 FEBRUARY – Corporate Relations Division (BPK) Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) always ensure that UMS is at the forefront either within or outside the country through exhibitions and promotional activities.

BPK will be holding an education fair at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Wallace Bay, Sebatik Island Tawau as an effort to promote UMS to rural areas.

According to a statement issued by the division, the education fair would be held on 5 February 2015 starting from 9.00 am until 1.00 pm.

The education fair provides opportunities to the communities around Sebatik Island to know more about the programmes offered by UMS.

For the record, in 2014, BPK held 21 exhibitions including three exhibitions abroad. – ZMD (fl)

TeamBuildingJabatanPendaftar2WEDNESDAY, 04 FEBRUARY – The Information Management and Governance Administration Division Registrar Department Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) recently organised a ‘Registrar Department Team Building 2015’ activity held at Kiulu White Water Rafting Centre.

The programme was organised to give opportunity to staff of Registrar Department to take some time off from work and get to know each other closer besides strengthening relationship among its staff.

Speaking at the opening of the programme, Acting Registrar, No’man Hj Ahmad said such programme was a way to form their identity and the spirit of camaraderie within the organisation.

“The programme is seen to be able to foster cooperation among employees as well as provide an opportunity to mingle among ourselves,” he said.

In addition, the programme was seen to create understanding and teamwork among employees while increasing the work quality and productivity.

Also present were the Head of Information Management, Effendy Hadis; Head of Administration and Governance, Talib Abdullah Shani; Head of Legal and Integrity Division, Awang Suhaizam Bungso and the Safety Division Chief, Lt. Col. Abdul Talib Arifin. – ZMD (fl)

jpp terbaik stafTUESDAY, 3 FEBRUARY – Preparing a strategic planning is the highest level of planning and very important so that the direction of planning and management of an organisation will be more organised, effective and transparent.

Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Prof. Datuk Dr. Mohd Harun Abdullah said at the same time it can also identify the objectives of short term, medium term and long term goals, at least 3-5 years ahead.

He said this in his speech read by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Student Affairs and Alumni, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ismail Ali at the closing ceremony of the Retreat Programme and Family Day of the Maintenance and Development Department (JPP) 2015.

Datuk Dr. Harun said, to achieve strategic planning which had been developed, it was the responsibility of JPP to modify or bring new changes using their full potential.

“It should be noted that the success of the strategic objectives implemented is dependent on the strong commitment of each staff through quality leadership, effective management, innovative and dynamic.

“With a strong and cohesive collaboration, honest and sincere, insya-Allah, the outcome will be perfect,” he said.

At the event, Dr. Ismail also witnessed the presentation of awards to outstanding 2014 JPP employees, presented by JPP Director, Kamisah Husin. – SS (fl)

IDPumslogo1TUESDAY, 3 FEBRUARY – The Human Resource Division, Registrar Department has upgraded its training management system starting 2 February 2015.

The system called ‘Individual Development Plan’ (IDP) will be used for the management of training for staff of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). All academic and non-academic staff can check the list of courses, both compulsory and elective for their reference and planning.

This can be assessed through HRONLINE using their own ID and password, starting 3 February 2015.

IDP replaces the old system called My Continuing Professional Development (MyCPD) which was a more open concept and was last used in 2014. The IDP is a more competency-based system and focuses on individual needs according to their actual job description.

The IDP needs for 2015-2016 is apportioned at 50% for compulsory, 30% elective and 20% for contributions of each individual.

BolaJaring1TUESDAY, 03 FEBRUARY – A selection run for Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Netball Team will be held on 14 February 2015 at the Multipurpose Hall, Sabah Federal Government Administration Complex starting at 8.00 am.

According to the Manager of UMS Netball team, Siti Rofaidah Muhammad Razali, the selection session is to get the best 12 players who will represent UMS at the coming ‘Sukan Badan Berkanun’ or ‘Sukanun 2015’ hosted by Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM).

She added that UMS was chosen to be the venue for the event this year.

"Sukanun 2015 will be held from 28 April until 3 May 2015 with Netball competition scheduled between 28 April until 2 May 2015," she added.
