Mpp scfc ums tuan rumahMONDAY, 19th JANUARY – Once again, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) was selected as the host for organizing Sector Focused Career Fair (SFCF) for the second time continuously.

It was stated, in a statement today, by Nurlina Arappe the Deputy President of the Student Representatives Council (MPP).

She added that UMS was chosen after succeeded to attract the attention from the programme sponsor, TalentCorp Malaysia through a working paper presentation. The presentation was delivered by Voluntary and Community MPP Exco, Mohd Taufiq Nordin (right in the photo) and Academic and Career Exco, Edrina Rincing (left in the photo).

“This achievement make UMS emerged as champion among eleven other institutional of higher education who are also competing to be the host organizer,” she added.

This big-scale career carnival is expected to be held this March will be handle by both UMS MPP line-up and together with other undergraduates. –SS

kal unisza sg labuFRIDAY, 16th JANUARY – Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Kampus Antarabangsa Labuan (KAL) and Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Terengganu will be organizing their Voice of Culture & Youth Volunteers programme at Kampung Sungai Labu beginning tomorrow.

According to the Programme Coordinator,  Mohd Quazly Ariffin Anzy, the undergraduates, are both from UMSKAL and UniSZA Rakan Muda Secratariat, will be adopted and having their community service work at the village for three days.

He added that they will be a cultural night performance with dancing and singing from Terengganu and Labuan will be shown including Adai-Adai Dance.

“The participants will also played games and cleaning the Kampung Sungai Labu beaches with the villagers,” he said.

Quazly also mention that they will be visiting the small industry kuih cincin making at the village to learn on managing business.

The program, end on Monday, will be participated by undergraduates from both universities.

LOGO UMS PUTIHFRIDAY, 16th JANUARY – Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) invites their qualified academicians with dynamics, creative and innovations characteristics to fill in a few of promotion posts.

The available posts are Language Teacher (DG44/48), Senior Lecturer (DS/DU52), Associate Professor (DS/DU54), and Special Grade C Professor (VK7).

According to the statement issued by the Registrar Department, among the general terms criteria are the applicant must confirmed in the service, achieved average 80 per cent performance evaluation score for three consecutive years and recommended by the Head of Department.

The statement also mentions that the applicants must hold a permanent post and free from any disciplinary action.

Details information on the criteria for promotional post can be referred to ‘Garis Panduan Kenaikan Pangkat Kakitangan UMS (Edisi Kedua)’ which was approved in the ‘Pihak Berkuasa Pengurusan Universiti’ (PBPU) Meeting Bil.7/2012 (Kali ke-162) and 55th Board of University Meeting.

zawawi3THURSDAY, 15 JANUARY – The Non-Academic Management and Professional Union Universiti Malaysia Sabah (PPUMS) is open to any partnership of any charitable programme benefiting the community.

This was conveyed by the President of PPUMS, Hj Zawawi Tiyunin (pic) who said this at the opening ceremony of the IM4U Mount Kinabalu Climb for Charity and Spirituality 2015 programme.

He said, PPUMS had been involved in various activities such as these to help those who were less fortunate.

“We have been conducting charitable programmes such as assistance to orphans, singles mothers, fire victims and flood victims throughout the country,” he said.

Hence, he said PPUMS was very grateful to have been selected to jointly organise this charity programme involving orphans from all over the country.

The programme initiated by the 7 Continents Exploration Club Malaysia was officiated by the Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Tuan Haji Armizan Mohd. Ali. – SS (fl)
