ABEST21 is an international accreditation organization dedicated to promoting excellence in business education and research. It focuses on fostering quality and innovation in business schools and faculties around the world.
The Faculty of Business, Economics, and Accountancy, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) is one of the ABEST21 International members. This membership indicates that the faculty at UMS is committed to upholding high standards in business education and research, aligning with ABEST21’s mission.

The Asian Academy of Applied Business (AAAB)
The Asian Academy of Applied Business (AAAB) is a non-profit, academic-oriented organization established by the Faculty of Business, Economics and Accountancy (formerly known as School of Business and Economics), Universiti Malaysia Sabah. The formation of the AAAB reflects the faculty’s ambition to expand into the international arena through various academic activities. The AAAB currently has a total of 150 ordinary members. The membership privilege includes receiving a copy of the Journal of the Asian Academy of Applied Business (JAAAB) issued bi-annually and a discounted fee for attending any events organized by the AAAB.
The Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH)
The Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) is a leading organization dedicated to representing and promoting the interests of the hotel and tourism industry in Malaysia. Founded in 1977, MAH is a non-profit trade association that comprises a wide range of hotels, resorts, and other hospitality businesses, providing its members with a unified voice and a platform to advocate for their collective interests. The Association for Tourism and Leisure Education and Research (ATLAS) is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1993. The organization is dedicated to promoting the development and dissemination of knowledge in the fields of tourism and leisure studies. It serves as a platform for scholars, educators, and practitioners to exchange ideas, collaborate, and engage in scholarly activities related to these fields. Tourism Educators Association of Malaysia (TEAM)
Tourism Educators Association of Malaysia (TEAM) was formally registered with the Malaysian Registrar of Societies (ROS) on 3rd March 2003. TEAM was formed in response to the need amongst relevant training and teaching professionals in Malaysia to discuss issues of common interest and foster the development of meaningful partnerships amongst the academic community and with the industry. TEAM can ensure the development of the curriculum and course design will be able to meet the need, requirement, and expectation of the tourism industry.
