The Gallery Azman Hashim at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (GAH-UMS) is proud to announce the exhibition "Narrating Localities: Printmaking Practices in Inter-Asian Perspective," presented by Inter-Asia Woodcut Mapping and Pangrok Sulap. This thought-provoking exhibition will be open from July 15 through September 30, 2025, exploring the dynamic field of contempotary printmaking within an Inter-Asian context. "Narrating Localities" delves into the art of storytelling through printmaking, featuring works from an array of 19 prominent artists and collectives across East Asia and Southeast Asia, including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines. The exhibition reflects a rich tapestry of stories that resonate with both local and regional audiences, fostering a deeper understanding of the diverse socio-political landscapes within Asia. We invite all art enthusiasts, scholars, and the general public to join us in exploring this captivating intersection of printmaking and storytelling within the rich contexts of Asian cultures and societies.
